Terms of Service
Last updated: 10 July 2026
Cookboard is a recipe collection and meal planning app made by Hitchless (sole trader, Australia). By using Cookboard you agree to these terms. They're written in plain English on purpose.
1. What Cookboard does
Cookboard lets you save recipes (typed in or imported from websites and social media), plan your week of meals, and generate shopping lists. It's provided "as is" — we work hard to keep it running well, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free.
2. Your account
- You can try Cookboard as a guest. Guest data lives with a temporary account and becomes permanent when you sign up.
- You're responsible for keeping your login details safe.
- You must be able to form a binding agreement (in Australia, generally 18+, or with a parent's consent).
3. Imported recipes are for personal use
- Recipes you import remain the property of their original authors and publishers.
- Imports are for your personal, private use only — Cookboard is your digital recipe folder, not a republishing platform.
- Recipe photos are loaded from the original website and are not copied or re-hosted by Cookboard.
- If you're a rights holder and want content removed, contact us and we'll act promptly.
4. Plans and payments
- The free plan includes up to 100 recipes and 3 trial imports.
- Paid plans: Pro Monthly (A$2.99/month, cancel anytime), Pro 12 Months (A$35.88 one-time, lasts 12 months, does not auto-renew), and Lifetime (A$39 one-time).
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
- Prices are in Australian dollars and include any applicable taxes.
- "Lifetime" means the lifetime of the Cookboard service.
5. Cancellations and refunds
- You can cancel a monthly subscription at any time; access continues to the end of the paid period.
- If you downgrade or a plan lapses, you keep all your recipes and data — you just can't add beyond the free limits until you upgrade again.
- Nothing in these terms limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law. If something's genuinely broken, contact us and we'll make it right, including refunds where the law requires — and often where it doesn't.
6. Fair use
"Unlimited imports" means unlimited normal human use. Automated scraping, bulk harvesting, resale of imported content, or anything that abuses the service isn't allowed and may result in account suspension.
7. Your data and privacy
- Your recipes and meal plans are stored with Google Firebase and are private to your account (and anyone you explicitly share your plan with).
- We collect only what the app needs to work: your email, your recipes and plans, and basic usage counts.
- We don't sell your data. Ever.
- You can delete your recipes at any time. To delete your whole account and its data, contact us.
8. Liability
To the extent the law allows, Cookboard isn't liable for indirect losses from using the service (like a dinner gone wrong or a lost shopping list). Nothing here excludes liability that can't be excluded under Australian law.
9. Changes
We may update these terms as Cookboard evolves. If a change matters, we'll flag it in the app. Continuing to use Cookboard after a change means you accept the updated terms.
